Where are you going? What are you doing? What’s running through your mind?
Are you running? Are you searching? What do you expect to find?
Why is it that you stray so far from the path?
Is it true that you don’t care? Don’t fear God’s wrath?
How can I watch your destructive pace, turn and not care?
Is it possible, you think, it’s worth your salvation out there?
Where are the memories of what He delivered you from?
Have they slipped away now? Is this how far you’ve come?
What happened little lamb? Are you lost from the fold?
Have you traded all you had in turn for flesh and gold?
Are the pleasures you seek still meaning more to you?
Don’t you see they are fleeting, pass away, and are few?
Can’t you see what you’re doing will hurt more than you?
God understands, even now, what you’re going through.
Will you wait? Will you come back? Won’t you listen? What went wrong?
Was it so hard? Will you come home? Or were you never there all along?
