Rare Day

I woke with the morning sun gentle upon my face.

I smiled a little curve as I bask in your warm embrace.

As I went about my day, facing giants of every kind.

I praised you earnestly for each trial brought you to mind.

Though this day raced in frustrating hectic pace,

I remembered to meet you in prayer, in our quiet place.

Friend and strangers called out, what would seem great needs.

Thank you for the opportunity to plant or water your seeds.

A letter brought a wonderful, heartfelt, nearly abandoned, deemed impossible surprise.

A family member wrote they accepted you, I read with grateful tears in my eyes.

I offered gratitude for my daily bread, musing on more difficult days.

Badly spent, wasted, worried, forgetting you in so many ways.

I smile still, knowing even those days, grace and mercy, you understood.

I am blessed to have a Savior so loving, patient; the God of impossibly good.

The day passed in a parable of the good shepherd and his sheep.

I closed my eyes, a still small whisper, “I love you.” and drifted into peaceful sleep.
